County: Ben Hill County

A single-city county in south Georgia

Ben Hill was organized in 1906 and named for Benjamin Harvey Hill, a former Confederate and United States Senator. It had 17,194 residents at the 2020 census and an estimated 17,099 in 2025.

Irwin County was part of the Fitzgerald statistical area until the 2023 federal updates removed it, leaving Ben Hill on its own. Almost all inventory carries a Fitzgerald address, which makes comps unusually consistent for a county this size. Our auction day checklist explains the certified funds requirement.
