Upson County Foreclosure Auctions
Upson County holds its foreclosure auction at the courthouse in Thomaston, on the first Tuesday of every month. Mind the name: Thomaston is the seat of Upson County in west central Georgia, while Thomasville is the seat of Thomas County, roughly two hundred miles south on the Florida line. First time out here? Our guide walks through the way these sales are handled.

Thomaston and Thomasville are two different places
The two are routinely confused in property records, and because they sit at opposite ends of the state a search run against the wrong one returns nothing rather than something obviously wrong. Thomaston is both the county seat and the largest city here.
Upson had 27,700 residents at the 2020 census and an estimated 28,500 in 2025, and it comprises the Thomaston micropolitan statistical area, which sits inside the wider Atlanta combined statistical area without being part of the metro proper. Our auction day checklist covers funds and what to have in hand.
